Legal environment

Insurance companies operating in Saint Kitts and Nevis must adhere to all provisions stated in the 2009 Saint Christopher and Nevis Insurance Act and any subsequent amendments.

This Act extends to require insurance companies to comply with provisions of the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations made under the Proceeds of Crime Act, 2000, and provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2002, as well as other financial services legislation.

The Financial Services Regulatory Commission (FSRC) is responsible for regulating and supervising the non-banking sector, including all insurance companies operating in St Kitts and Nevis. For more information, see the FSCR websites:

Compulsory Insurance

It is mandatory to have third party motor insurance to drive a vehicle on the highway in St Kitts and Nevis. We offer third party insurance to satisfy your minimum legal obligations as well as fully comprehensive insurance.
